CLIENT BEWARE: Before commissioning a surveyor for your project the HSE advise that the client should examine surveyor CVs and qualifications. -The HSE also advise that surveyors are carrying out any survey in accordance with recommended guidance, MDHS100. At DJV Insulations all surveys are carried out and produced to MDHS100 standard. We only use UKAS accredited laboratories to analyse bulk samples taken as part of a Type 2 or Type 3 survey. In accordance with our internal management procedures all laboratories commissioned and on our select list have been scrutinised and have successfully demonstrated their competence to carry out bulk asbestos analysis through the provision of staff training records, certificates from external training providers, participation in quality assurance schemes, satisfactory performance in national proficiency testing programmes and accreditation to ISO 17025 or an equivalent. -Professional indemnity insurance cover. There are 3 types of survey referred to in MDHS100, DJV Insulations are fully insured, trained and experienced to carry out all of these surveys. Please Note: The HSE has revised guidance for surveying, sampling and assessment of asbestos containing materials. The new guidelines will supersede the existing guidance, MDHS 100, and are expected to come into force in the early half of 2010. Under the new regime, Type 1 surveys will be phased out. Type 2 and Type 3 surveys will be akin to the new 'Management' survey and 'Refurbishment and Demolition' survey respectively.
